Wurk
Wurk: Sidekiq, Pro and Enterprise features in one free gem
Same Redis keys, same job JSON, same Ruby DSL. Change one line in your Gemfile and your jobs and live Redis data keep working.
What it does
Wire-compatible
Sidekiq::Worker, Sidekiq::Batch and Sidekiq::Limiter all resolve to Wurk. Wurk is independent, and not affiliated with or endorsed by Sidekiq.
One gem, no tiers
Batches, rate limiting, leader-elected cron, unique jobs and encrypted arguments ship in the same gem, with no licence check.
Built for fleets
Kubernetes probes, an HTTP API for non-Ruby services and OpenTelemetry tracing. Its README dates its speed comparison with Sidekiq and gives the command to reproduce it.
Where it stands
In production. Its README says it runs the background work at developerz.ai and at partner deployments, and that throughput numbers from those deployments are not published yet.
